About the Award for AAKEL eFleet

This service monitors the market price of electricity and charges EVs accordingly. It is an optimal charging service that links electricity prices with the charging status of EV through communication systems, and it has been evaluated as a model that can contribute to the output control of renewable energy. The service has been in operation since 2023, and we hope for further expansion of its use, leading to this award. AAKEL eFleet : https://aakel.co.jp/eFleet/top

Development Background of AAKEL eFleet

With the proliferation of renewable energy, there is a growing trend of output curtailment on sunny days in the Kyushu area, where our company is based, posing a significant challenge. As output curtailment increases, the revenue derived from renewables decreases, leading to a decline in the expected return on investment for investors, which raises concerns about becoming a major obstacle to the widespread adoption of renewables. Addressing this challenge requires ensuring flexibility in the power system. While various methods have been proposed to secure flexibility, our company has focused on EV charging as one of those methods and developed a product accordingly.
